Drink lots of water! Hydration plays a large part on creating clear 3D/4D ultrasound images during pregnancy, so make sure to drink plenty of water every day starting 4-5 days before your appointment.
Eat a snack or light meal about an hour before your appointment to get baby moving.
A 2D ultrasound is your traditional black and white image that sonographers use to determine gender or see a profile picture.
A 3D ultrasound is a static 3 dimensional image of your baby.
4D adds the dimension of LIVE imaging, allowing you to see your baby’s movements in real time. While you do go home with still images of your baby in 3D, the most amazing part of the experience is seeing your baby moving around in 4D. You’ll get to watch as they smile, yawn, and play with their toes.
HD is a high definition picture. It allows you to see a more realistic image of your baby.
I always try my very best to provide you with the highest quality images. Sometimes babies do not cooperate, and even with a well trained eye, it can be impossible to capture desired images. I will get you images and video clips of whatever we can see. While refunds are not given at this time, I do offer 1 redo session for a travel fee of $50 or free if you come to me. This will be determined at the sonographer's discretion. Occasionally, there are circumstances such as amniotic fluid volume, fetal position, etc. that contribute to lesser quality images.
I accept cash, Venmo, and PayPal.
No, elective ultrasounds are not based on medical necessity, therefore, I cannot bill your insurance company.
Usually between 26 and 32 weeks is the best time. Later in pregnancy it can be difficult to get good images (even though, I have gotten some cute faces surprisingly at 39 weeks!) This isn't always the case. Remember, each pregnancy and each mama is different.
That's perfectly fine! I will let you know when to look away.
ABSOLUTELY NOT! While I specialize in MFM, this visit will be strictly for entertainment purposes. If I happen to see something, I will inform your doctor and we can go from there.
